Historic District Resource Identification Plan
Township celebrates 175th Birthday with Historic District Resource Identification Preservation Plan
Grand Blanc Township was founded in 1833. This fall, the Township, funded primarily by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds will complete a township wide plan for identifying historic properties, homes, barns and other structures with the purpose of safeguarding our community’s heritage, stabilizing and improving property values, fostering civic beauty, strengthening the local economy and promoting the use of historic buildings and properties for the education, welfare and pleasure of our community’s citizens.
The Township seeks your help by requesting your participation in identifying historic properties and structures within the Township that are generally at least 75 years old, thus established or constructed in 1933 or earlier.
Select the links below to view a map circa 1873 that identifies the sites we’ve located thus far and to download the Potential Historic Sites Contribution Form, or pick one up at our Community Development office in the Township’s Government Center at 5371 S. Saginaw Street or call us at 810/424-2766 and we’ll fax it to you. Please complete the form as completely as you can and send it back to us prior to June 30, 2008.
