Crime Prevention Programs in Grand Blanc Township
Grand Blanc Township is a very progressive community both in size and activity. As a result, the crime prevention duties needed to enhance a modern police agency has outgrown the limited time available to the street patrol officer who is answering calls for service. Now, it is true that each officer does practice crime prevention techniques while on patrol, however, the trend, as well as public demand, necessitates an officer be assigned full-time to crime prevention duties.
The public is constantly bombarded with information about local crimes that may or may not directly affect them. This information often causes alarm and, as a result, many citizens may live in fear. The Crime Prevention Unit of the Grand Blanc Township Police Department is responsible for making direct contact with the public and interpreting the information, which they have received. By sharing information and discussing some of the concerns of the public, the Crime Prevention Unit is better able to serve as the connecting link between the public and the police department.
