Motor Carrier Program

The Grand Blanc Township Police Department Motor Carrier Unit program is intended to improve roadway safety for all motorists by proactively enforcing the commercial motor vehicle laws. The department has three certified officers to perform safety inspections based on federal and Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) guidelines. Inspections are normally conducted off the roadway and officers check for driver qualifications and carrier documentation. Officers also check the actual vehicle for equipment violations and weight violations. Drivers and/or trucks can be removed from service when specific violations are present.
