Motorcycle Program
The Grand Blanc Township Police Department Motorcycle Unit was founded in 2002. The department utilizes the Harley Davidson Electra Glide police motorcycles to patrol the township. Each motorcycle is equipped with radar units, emergency lights/siren, and police radios. The motorcycles can be used for special events, traffic enforcement, dignitary escorts, and other patrol functions. One advantage of the motorcycles is their maneuverability. They can easily patrol our subdivisions and get into areas that are more difficult for a cruiser.
Our two motor officers must attend and pass an 80 hour certification course composed of slow and high speed exercises.
