DPW is currently cleaning sewer in the area of Saginaw St and Hill rd. This includes Woodward Acres (Case and Frederick). Please look out for intermittent lane closures throughout the day, slow down, and give our employees plenty of room to work. We expect this work to be done by the end of next week. This will conclude our sewer cleaning program until the fall.
The lack of rain in our area has led to many of the neighboring communities instituting open burning bans also. The ban is in effect until further notice.
The new round-about at the intersection of Hill Rd and Belsay Rd is under construction and is bound to be one of many in Grand Blanc Township. The Genesee County Road Commission announces that Halsey Road between Baldwin Road and McWain Road in Grand Blanc Township will be closed to traffic on Thursday, April 19, 2018 for replacement of a crosstube from approximately 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to allow additional time to reach their destination.

The Charter Township of Grand Blanc will be holding an informational public hearing at the regularly scheduled Township Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. to explain and seek input from the community in support for the proposed project and grant application.
With some of the recent windy conditions, trash and recyclables have been blowing into other yards. Please help us keep our community clean by securing your trash and recyclables when sitting them out for trash collection.

The ramp from northbound I-75 to Holly Road is now open and with it the new loop ramp from Holly Road to northbound I-75 is also open. We will be closing the existing ramp from southbound Holly Road to northbound I-75 later today. But have the signal set up to allow that traffic to make a left onto the new loop ramp

The Genesee County Road Commission will be performing micro-surfacing paving operations on Davison Road from Vassar Road to Irish Road in Davison Township, on Hemphill Road from Van Slyke Road to Fenton Road in Flint Township, and on Hill Road from Center Road to Georgetown Street Road in Grand Blanc Township starting Monday, September 18, 2017.
In an effort to better serve Grand Blanc Township water and sewer customers, your utility bill will be getting a new look including changing the size from a traditional postcard to a full sheet of paper. Tonight we will be closing the ramps to northbound and southbound I-75 from eastbound I-69. The closures will start around 8PM and should be back opened up by about 5AM. The detour will be to stay on eastbound I-69 and take the Hammerberg Road exit. Head north on Hammerberg Road and take the ramp to westbound I-69 back to I-75. The closure is weather dependent and should only be needed for the 1 night
With the large amounts of rain we have had over the past couple of days, areas in the township may have standing water that can attract mosquitoes. While these areas will dry up quickly, we are reminding all residents to please dump all containers holding water to help control the mosquitoes on your property.
UPDATE-9:30 am: The water main break has been fixed and water has been restored. DPW crews are cleaning up the job site and will be clear of the area within an hour.
7:45 am: The Grand Blanc Township DPW is currently responding to a water main break on Baldwin Rd just east of Saginaw Rd

The Genesee County Road Commission announces that Vassar Road from Hill Road to Jordan Road in Atlas and Grand Blanc Townships will be open to local traffic only on Friday and Saturday, August 12 & 13, 2016 for ditching operations.

There is a water main break near the intersection of Porter Rd. and Springdale Blvd. The Department of Public Works has a crew on site repairing the break. At this time, we anticipate that the work will be completed today in the late afternoon/early evening.
Lead is a very serious contaminant in drinking water. Even though Grand Blanc Township residents should have no worries regarding lead in our public water supply, the link below has helpful information on lead in drinking water.
