Open Burn Ban in Effect
It’s been several weeks since our area has received any sizable amount of rain and with the very warm weather and low humidity levels, the possibility of an outdoor fire getting out of control is great. Some of our neighboring fire departments have issued bans for all outdoor burning. At this time, Grand Blanc has not.
I am asking that everyone be careful with any type of burning. A small spark will ignite grasses and dry leaves very quickly and become out of control before the fire department can arrive. At this time, only campfires are allowed in the township. Open burning (larger fires) for yard clean up is banned and leaf burning is prohibited.
With cooler temperatures being forecast for later this week, make sure that you follow the guidelines listed at http://www.twp.grand-blanc.mi.us/departments/fire/burning_permits.php for campfires.
If you have difficulty finding the information on line, please call the fire station at (810)694-7211. The firefighters that are on duty will be happy to answer your call.
